Technical : The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a completely new design by Manfred Diestertich. Entirely different in construction than the previous Caldera series. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a closed loudspeaker system, made from a specially curved one-piece MDF. The majority of the Audio Physic Caldera 3 is intended for bass reproduction. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is thus closed, and has 1 active woofer and 1 passive woofer per side, thus 4 moving units. The units are equipped with ceramic-coated aluminum cones. The passive radiators eliminate boom from bass reflex ports, and the bass is thereby very deep, solid and yet tuneful. The lower midrange is reproduced by a ceramic-coated aluminum unit as is the midrange itself. This unit is built behind the floating suspended ring radiator tweeter, a very special construction. The amplifier connection is a single wire WBT connector, also built on a floating connection panel.

Listening : The Audio Physic Caldera 3 sounds like a true reference loudspeaker. Grand, with an enormously deep and pure bass reproduction, a beautiful open and highly musical midrange, and very refined treble. Combined with a large and precise spatial image, nothing is left to be desired. Due to the closed bass system, bass reproduction always remains beautiful and smooth. The specific coaxial midrange unit with floating tweeter proves to work extremely well. The reproduction is spatially very pure, but never harsh. A large emotional sonic sphere unfolds easily. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a typical musical loudspeaker suitable for evening after evening of music listening.
