Technical : The Time is a technically very advanced loudspeaker. The cabinet consists of many layers of HDF, and internally very carefully braced. The front panel alone is 12cm thick. The inside of the cabinet is fitted with many reinforcing baffles, subpanels and resembles the interior of a Gothic church more than a loudspeaker cabinet. The loudspeaker units are among the best available. 2 pieces of 30cm Honeycomb woofers in a semi-sealed enclosure. The Avalon Time features a port at the bottom, but it is not a bass reflex port; it is more of a vent for the energy that builds up in the cabinet. The midrange driver is a super-fast and low-distortion ceramic concave unit with a neodymium magnet. Very fast and pure, and thanks to Avalon's sophisticated filter technology, this midrange driver operates completely free of any coloration. The tweeter is the large (24mm) pure diamond tweeter from Accuton, also driven by a neodymium magnet. This tweeter is very special, extremely expensive and is among the best tweeters in the world. In terms of filter technology, Avalon uses solutions that you only find with them. Everything is tailored to the cabinet, and also to the front, with a felt layer. The front must remain in place for the best sonic results.
