General : Bricasti from the USA originally manufactures digital High End products for the professional world. The Bricasti M1 SE is the successor to the first in a series of High End products from the manufacturer, the Bricasti M1 Classic. It is one of the first fully Dual Mono configured DA Converters in the world. Furthermore, the Bricasti M1 is one of the few DA Converters suitable for playing native DSD and DXD files.

Technology : The Bricasti M1 SE is built with CNC milled aluminum sections and heavy aluminum plates. You will not find sheet metal here, but exclusively resonance-free plates. Even the top and bottom plates are milled. Everything to improve sound quality. All parts are heavily anodized and provided with text by laser engraving. Built to ultra-high standards and with a very long lifespan. The Bricasti M1 SE is a fully Dual Mono configured DA Converter and improved in several respects compared to the M1 Classic. The Bricasti M1 SE, like the M1 Classic, has 2 Mono 24 Bit DA Converters built into 1 housing. Each channel uses a Stereo ADI-1955 DA Converter in a fully balanced Mono configuration. However, the M1 SE is point to point soldered. The M1 SE also features Stillpoint feet specially designed for this M1 SE. Additionally, the power supply has been upgraded. Eight different digital filters are available, including the latest Apodizing Filters (Minimum Phase) and linear filters. The Bricasti M1 SE locks on all frequencies from 16bit 44.1KHz to 24bit 384KHz and on DSD and DXD Files. Various digital inputs are available. AES/EBU, Toslink, SPDIF, BNC, and USB-2. The analog output stage is a pure Class A discrete output stage built on expensive Arlon boards. Standard this is set to 2 Volt, but the jumper can also be moved so that the output voltage of the XLR output is adjustable between 0.5 Volt to 17 Volt. You can thus drive your power amplifier directly with the Bricasti M1 SE. You then have a high-quality fully balanced High End set with a minimum of components. An excellent clock is also used for the conversion. An ultra-low 6 picosecond jitter value is the result.

Listening : The Bricasti M1 SE is a DA Converter of the highest quality. The sound is completely analog, there is no trace of digital harshness anymore. The soundstage is enormous and exciting.
