Technical : You can always expect good quality from Bryston equipment. Beautiful, solid and refined equipment that is technically so well built that Bryston offers as much as 20 years warranty since there are hardly ever any problems with it. This Bryston B60 SST is also nicely basic, no gold-plated nameplate or bulletproof front panels, just pure and simple quality. This is how Bryston equipment is not excessively thick and heavy, and therefore absolutely not overpriced. Most integrated amplifiers lack a headphone connection, but this Bryston B60 SST has a 6.3mm jack connection that is driven by the preamplifier section, and it sounds excellent with virtually every headphone.

Listening : The Bryston B60 SST is a very fresh-sounding amplifier, nice open sound, very dynamic and without any harshness, even at higher volumes. The midrange is very smooth and accessible and a pleasure to listen to, even during longer listening sessions. The treble is very detailed and refined, and not too bright. The bass is very rich and controlled, tight and musical. The Bryston B60 SST also has a nice soundstage and good 3D imaging. In short, a neutral yet very engaging sound.
