General : A very special and exclusive speaker column from France

Technical : The Elipson Colonne Design is a technically very advanced speaker. The first thing that stands out is that the Elipson Colonne Design is particularly slender, slim and tall. The Elipson Colonne Design is a fully enclosed, 3-way phase-linear reproducer. The low tones are reproduced by 2 long-throw woofers, one in the base of the Elipson Colonne Design and one high in the cabinet. The woofer at the bottom is different from the top woofer due to the fact that the bottom woofer is in a bandpass system. The midrange driver is located entirely at the top of the enclosure and sits in 2 chambers. The first chamber is the midrange driver's own chamber, and the second chamber is at the very top of the Elipson Colonne Design and is a so-called Helmholz resonance chamber. This chamber absorbs disturbing resonances so that the midrange driver operates with very low distortion. The tweeter is a 19mm silk dome, which has its own chamber. The tweeter is electronically delayed in the crossover, so that the high tones are perfectly in sync with the rest of the units. This is quite unique and expensive and is rarely executed this way anymore. The Elipson Colonne Design was available in 2 versions, namely veneered and painted, and the exclusive Acrylic version. This Elipson Colonne Design is the white Acrylic version, where the tube side of the speaker is covered with a thick layer of acrylic. This is particularly wear-resistant and remains attractive. The Elipson Colonne Design is therefore a technically special speaker and the overall effect translates into an excellent sounding whole.

Listening : The Elipson Colonne Design sounds grand, spatial, mature and very pleasant. It immediately strikes you that the Elipson Colonne Design creates a large sound image, which is simply accurate. The bass reproduction is deep and pure, the midrange reproduction is free of harshness and the articulation is excellent. The treble reproduction is fresh, pure and refined.
