Technical : The Krell KSL-2 is quite mature in age, but technically and sonically it doesn't fall behind the average high-end preamplifier of today. In its time, the KSL-2 was one of the only fully balanced preamplifiers in its price range. You also have a nice variety of inputs to work with, 2 RCA inputs and 2 XLR inputs. For the output you also have the choice between an unbalanced RCA output or a balanced XLR output. Furthermore, the Krell KSL-2 also features a balance control. The Krell KSL-2 operates fully in high bias Class A. All components, including the power supply, are of extremely high quality and that is immediately reflected in the sound.

Listening : The Krell KSL-2 is a very musical preamplifier, it sounds powerful, full and refined. What particularly stands out is the definition with which everything is presented, the soundstage sounds large, honest and transparent in a very musical way. The Krell KSL-2 actually has no drawbacks, everything sounds full-bodied yet dynamic and open. The bass also goes very deep, but remains beautifully controlled and does not overpower or intrude. The Krell KSL-2 does exactly what you can expect from a high-end preamplifier, and it is uncompromising. This Krell KSL-2 is in excellent condition, and the original packaging has been preserved.
