The Lector CDP-603 is the new integrated CD player from Lector. While attention today is often focused on digital technology, the Lector CDP-603 also features exceptionally well-designed and thoughtful mechanical aspects. The housing is round and very sturdy. The drive mechanism is spring-suspended in rubber, and the new laser mechanism can correct interruptions of up to 3mm without audible consequences. The servo itself is a 32-bit CPU that ensures flawless reading of your CDs. The DA Converter is a 32Bit 192KHz, low jitter DAC which is powered by the built-in upsampler. This DA Converter delivers the converted signal directly to a pure Class A tube output stage. There are no transistors in the signal path. Only 1 custom-made polypropylene capacitor is present. The output tube itself is a selected 12AT7/ECC-81 tube, one per channel. Various stabilized power supply circuits are present for the required components such as laser, spindle motor, digital electronics and analog electronics. The Lector CDP-603 has a large and clearly readable display, which is dimmable. The Lector CDP-603 has a set of excellent single-ended RCA outputs, made of pure copper and gold-plated. Sonically, the Lector CDP-603 is a true Lector. Open sounding, enjoyable and very analog. Absolutely a very exuberant CD player, this Lector CDP-603, and always very musical. While many CD players today sound downright boring and over-processed, or downright harsh, this Lector CDP-603 stands out in a positive way. Simply a pleasure to listen to, this Lector CDP-603.
