General : The Luxman DA-06 is a top-of-the-line D/A Converter from Luxman, Japan. Luxman is a brand that has been present in the high-end world for a very long time. They are known for their superior build quality and refined, detailed sound.

Technical Specifications : The Luxman DA-06 has a wide range of digital inputs for all your digital equipment. There is a USB-B input for streamers or PC/MAC which accepts all PCM and DSD formats up to DSD128. An AES/EBU XLR input, 2 Coax RCA and 2 Toslink Optical. You can connect plenty of devices to the Luxman DA-06 and you can play virtually all file formats. The DAC chips are the excellent Burr Brown 1792A 32-bit DAC chips. All incoming signals are upsampled to 352.8kHz or 384kHz, depending on whether it is a 44.1kHz (or a multiple thereof) file or a 48kHz (or a multiple thereof) file. The USB input is asynchronous and therefore sounds very good in combination with all equipment with a USB audio output.

Listening : The Luxman DA-06 has, like all Luxman equipment, a refined, pleasant and neutral sound. The character of Luxman is very musical, so musical in fact, that there is a good chance you will lose yourself in the music rather than being overwhelmed with details. The details in the recording are there, but they are well-placed and do not take over from the 'soul' of the music. The sound is beautifully balanced and always sounds pleasant, no listening fatigue, but also no wooliness. The design of the Luxman DA-06 is sleek and elegant and the build quality is excellent.
