General: Marten Design is a major player in the exclusive high-end audio market. For years, this beautiful brand has competed at the highest level. The Parker series consists of a standmount speaker (Duo) and this floor-standing speaker, the Trio, and above that sits a larger floor-stander called the Quintet. The Parker series from Marten Design is a step up from the entry-level Oscar series.

Technology: The Marten Parker Trio is a modern loudspeaker with great capability. The drivers and tweeter used are ceramic units specially designed by founder and chief designer Leif Olofsson. These ceramic drivers are powered by a powerful neodymium magnet system. The two 7.5 inch bass/midrange woofers are supported by two passive radiators on the rear of each speaker. This provides a solid, round, and very deep bass reproduction. The pure internal wiring comes from Jorma and is therefore of the highest quality, very important. The enclosure is a very solid and resonance-free design made of a multilayered material that Marten Design calls 'M-Board'. This enclosure rests on Marten Isolators, large decoupling feet developed together with IsoAcoustics; you could regard the Marten Isolators as a more luxurious version of the IsoAcoustics Gaia feet. As a result, the speakers stand like a house and resonances are no longer an issue, plus you can place the Marten Parker Trio on a wooden floor without damaging it.

Listening: The Marten Parker Trio has a nice balance between precision and musicality. The sound reproduction is clean and honest, details are effortlessly rendered, and the speakers completely disappear into the soundscape. The bass is pleasantly firm and round without resonances. You can place the Marten Parker Trio in many types of rooms, but it is advisable not to put them in a room that is too small, because although the Parker Trio handles solid bass reproduction without compromise, the room of course can resonate along with it. Give the Marten Parker Trio some space, and you'll be treated to a beautiful 3D soundstage where the performers are present with enthusiasm. Another nice feature of the Marten Parker Trio is that it handles many music genres well, whether it's electronic, acoustic, classical, blues, or jazz, the Marten Parker Trio always presents it in a high-quality, interesting, and musical way.

This set of Marten Parker Trio speakers is only a few months old, so the set is of course in absolutely like-new condition and comes in the original packaging. There is also plenty of remaining factory warranty.
