Technology : The Marten Miles 5 is a modern loudspeaker; the drivers feature a ceramic diaphragm which is very light and rigid. Ceramic has properties that you cannot achieve with a paper driver. The Miles 5 is a 2-way loudspeaker with two 7" drivers for the midrange/bass and a 1" tweeter for the high tones. Because it is a 2-way loudspeaker, the crossovers are simpler and the Marten Miles 5 is easier to drive for amplifiers. The impedance behavior of the Marten Miles 5 is also favorable, which means you can drive them with quality amplifiers with somewhat less power; even tube amplifiers can make the Marten Miles 5 sing.

Listening : The Marten Miles 5 is a loudspeaker with a transparent character; the ceramic drivers deliver a transparent and clean reproduction. Yet the Marten Miles 5 do not sound sharp or analytical, but they do require proper attention regarding the connected equipment. With a high-quality amplifier and good cabling, you can expect a spatial, pleasant but also highly dynamic sound with a very musical and rhythmic bass. In short : a very complete and musical sound.

This set of Marten Miles 5 is supplied including Marten Isolators which are manufactured by IsoAcoustics. These feet sound many times better than the spikes that come standard with these speakers when you buy them new. You can also confidently place this set on your laminate floor without damaging it. The loudspeakers are finished in a stylish Piano Black finish and the loudspeakers are virtually undamaged, with only minor spots that are not visible from the listening position.
