Technology : The Melody MP 211 MAX is a mono power amplifier featuring the renowned 211 tube. Audio Note's Ongaku uses the same tube, the 211. Just saying. This 211 tube is exceptional in terms of quality and reliability, but especially in musicality. When single-ended with a single 211 tube, it delivers a solid 28 watts per channel. In the Melody MP 211 MAX, 2 x 211 tubes are configured in parallel, carefully adjusted, and the Melody MP 211 MAX delivers a solid 50 watts continuous at 8 ohms or 4 ohms. Furthermore, the Melody MP 211 MAX is entirely single-ended and configured in Class A. The Melody MP 211 MAX is also hard-wired (point to point), so no circuit boards for the delicate audio signals. An XLR input is available, coupled to a balancing transformer, an excellent way to combine the XLR input signals into a single-ended signal. The build quality of the Melody MP 211 MAX is impeccable and we find the design fantastic. Sober, matte finish with solid wood side panels, a stylish and luxurious look that appears natural and pleasing. The Melody MP 211 MAX are fairly large and very heavy monoblocks, 70cm deep, with feet positioned at 60cm, so a deep audio cabinet or deep amplifier platforms are recommended. The Melody MP 211 MAX is a special tube amplifier set, and the sound quality is sublime. We also have the corresponding new Melody WE-2688 Signature tube preamplifier available.

Listening : We connected the Melody MP 211 MAX to the Borresen 03 Cryo, various Sonus Fabers, and also to Blumenhofer speakers. In all cases the Melody MP 211 MAX sounds exceptional. The power is enormous, and the grip on the speakers is sublime. There is a great sense of quietness thanks to the parallel-configured 211 tubes. Compared to the equally excellent integrated Melody Everest 845, the Melody MP 211 MAX in combination with a good preamplifier is simply on a different level. More quietness, more 3D, more tension, beautiful solid bass reproduction, actually nothing to criticize and everything to enjoy. We recommend setting up the Melody MP 211 MAX, connecting it to an Ansuz or Gigawatt power distribution, and from that point on enjoying beautiful music! This Melody MP 211 MAX set is our demo set, in excellent condition, and has been played for a maximum of 100 hours.
