General : Beautiful all-in-one streaming Class A/B amplifier from Serblin & Son. For many, the name Serblin will ring a bell, thinking of Sonus Faber. This amplifier was developed by Fabio Serblin, the nephew of Franco Serblin, the founder of Sonus Faber. The name is certainly upheld with the launch of this magnificent amplifier line.

Technology : Unique to the Serblin & Son Performer is its high-quality relay volume control consisting of 127 steps. The build quality is excellent, the chassis and front are made of solid aluminum and the whole unit weighs 8 kg and feels very solid. The Serblin & Son Performer is designed to pack versatility and impressive performance in an affordable package. In our view, this has been accomplished very well. The Serblin & Son Performer features the following functions: Phono Input MM or MC (switchable), 3 x Analog Inputs, a Pre Output, a built-in DAC with SPDIF Coax and Toslink Optical inputs, and lastly, this .NET version includes the built-in streamer (normally costing €250.00) to play directly from Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, Airplay, UPnP/DLNA or Bluetooth AptX. There is also a USB-A output for powering/charging external devices. The active input and volume level are displayed on a nice, small OLED display on the front. The Serblin & Son Performer is therefore the ideal all-rounder with excellent performance, lots of functionality and sleek, Italian design.

Sound : The Serblin & Son Performer has a very refined and natural sound. The soundstage is spacious and the detail reproduction is very precise. With its 100 watts per channel at 4 ohms, the Serblin & Son Performer is also very stable in its performance. This results in full and firm bass that does not dominate, even at higher volumes. The midrange and treble are very rich in detail but never sound harsh. All things considered, the Serblin & Son Performer delivers a natural and organic sound to your home. How Serblin & Son managed to pack this build and sound quality into such a beautiful enclosure at this price point is unique.
