General : High-end speaker cable from Dutch brand Siltech. A reference cable from back in the day that rarely appears on the secondhand market.

Technical : The Siltech LS-180 G3 features solid silver conductors plated with gold, a combination of materials that provides superior conductivity compared to copper or even silver alone. In the 1st and 2nd generation of Siltech cables, pure solid silver was used, and from the 3rd generation onwards, Siltech switched to gold-plated silver, which delivered noticeable improvements not just on paper, but also audibly, compared to previous generations. The cables are equipped with the optional premium Siltech SSP-003 spade connectors. These are considerably more substantial and superior to the WBT connectors that were standard on these cables. These cables were delivered by Siltech with these SSP-003 connectors, so they were not added later.

Listening : The Siltech LS-180 G3 sounds transparent, open, and dynamic. The tonal character is open and fresh, not necessarily bright, but proper matching should be considered. Once connected in a good system, details will be easier to hear, the bass will be tighter with more definition, and voices will sound cleaner and less colored. Even today, the Siltech LS-180 G3 can be considered a true high-end cable and can be used in high-quality systems.
