Technical : The Spendor A7 is a very solidly built speaker, and a 2-way system. A 2-way system has significant advantages in several respects. Especially the fact that only 2 filters are used, instead of 4 filters in a 3-way system, ensures a very quiet, phase-coherent and natural sounding speaker. The speaker units used are a Spendor proprietary development. The woofer is a fast and light EP77 polymer cone, which allows controlled flexing of the cone. The tweeter is a 22mm dome, protected by a small grille. The filters are well-designed and built with quality materials. The Spendor A7 has (very nice) a single wiring connection. No hassle with double cables. The connectors are of very high quality. The Spendor A7 stands on a resonance-damping base with spikes.
