Technical: The Spendor A7 is a very solidly built speaker and a 2-way system. A 2-way system has several significant advantages. Especially the fact that only 2 filters are used, instead of 4 filters in a 3-way system, ensures very quiet, phase-coherent and natural-sounding audio. The speaker units used are Spendor's own development. The woofer is a fast and light EP77 polymer cone, which allows some controlled flex of the cone. The tweeter is a 22mm dome, protected by a small grille. The filters are well-designed and built with quality materials. The Spendor A7 features (very nicely) single wiring connection. No hassle with dual cables. The connectors are of very high quality. The Spendor A7 stands on a resonance-damping foot with spikes. Spendor always prides itself on the fact that their speakers sound musical and that the listener will not suffer from listening fatigue, and listening to this A7 certainly confirms that.
