General: The Borresen 03 is the mid-sized floor-standing loudspeaker from the '0-series' of Børresen Acoustics. A genuine high-end sound experience in a mid-sized format with sleek and elegant design.

Technology: The Borresen 03 features a very well-considered design. The cabinet is manufactured by Sino Factory, a Danish manufacturer. The black baffle is made of HDF with a clean, screw-free design. The drivers and crossovers are manufactured by Borresen in-house. The drivers and tweeter used are unique. The dipole planar ribbon tweeter is made from a special foil material and has a moving mass of only 0.01 grams, powered by a fast and extremely powerful Super-Neodymium N52 magnet. The tweeter is housed in its own compartment within the cabinet, ventilated through two side openings and one port on the rear of the loudspeaker. The four 4.5" cones consist of a 4-millimeter thick 'Nomex Core' design with two layers of unwoven carbon fiber from the Japanese manufacturer 'Toray', a high-tech company that also supplies components for Formula 1 cars and the aerospace industry. Like the tweeter, the cones are driven by a Super-Neodymium N52 magnet. The combination of both light moving mass and powerful N52 Neodymium drive results in extremely fast acceleration of the units, providing rapid sound reproduction. The materials used ensure extremely low self-inductance, which prevents distortion and resonance. The Borresen 03 is an open system, but through clever use of diffusers at the bass port, the bass port does not emit large sound waves with high energy toward the wall. Instead, the sound waves are dispersed and reduced, resulting in decreased energy output from the bass port. This allows you to place the Borresen 03 as close as 80cm from the rear wall without bass resonance or dominance. Of course, more space around the loudspeakers is still beneficial.

Versions: There are 3 versions available of the Borresen 03, specifically the special Cryo Version:

- The Cryo version. This version has the same construction as the standard version. However, the drivers and crossover components are cryogenically treated. The parts are cooled over 24 hours to -196 degrees Celsius, then remain at this temperature for 24 hours before gradually returning to room temperature over 24 hours. The entire process takes 72 hours. The internal molecular structure changes through this process, and stress is relieved from the materials. Additionally, metal conductivity is increased by 6-8% and inductance is reduced by 6-8%. The result is a more transparent, direct, and detailed sound reproduction.

Listening: The Borresen 03 Cryo sounds very special. Fast, open, yet easy on the ears. So controlled, so spatial, and so refined and free from resonance at any volume. It is immediately clear that we are dealing with a very special loudspeaker. The reproduction is extremely precise and realistic, yet at the same time there is an enormous sense of calm throughout. You are immediately placed in the space where the performers are, whether it's a small studio, a large hall, or even a stadium. The Borresen 03 Cryo captures the atmosphere with great accuracy. The Borresen 03 Cryo can play quite loud, and even at the highest volumes, the sound image remains rock solid and never becomes fatiguing to listen to. Aside from high volumes, you can of course also listen comfortably at low volumes with the Borresen 03 Cryo. Due to the very low moving mass of the ultra-light tweeter and midrange/woofer units, even at quiet music levels at room volume, you can hear every detail and see a spatial image. The Borresen 03 Cryo takes a step further in musical experience, bass impact, and spatial imaging compared to the Borresen 01 Cryo and 02 Cryo.
