General: The Ansuz Acoustics Mainz X3 is the latest entry-level powercord from Ansuz Acoustics from Denmark. The new Mainz X3 now belongs to the Steel Series from Ansuz Acoustics. The Steel Series from Ansuz is called the Steel Series because the gold-plated connectors are housed in a stainless steel (CRES 316) enclosure. The predecessor of the Mainz X3, the Mainz X2, had connectors in an aluminum enclosure. And for Ansuz Acoustics, this poses a problem. Audio Group Denmark (of which Ansuz is a part) is constantly researching different materials. Various materials such as Titanium, Copper, Stainless Steel, and even Zirconium are frequently used. Ansuz is working to completely avoid the material aluminum in its new products. Aluminum has a negative effect on sound, it produces an artificial tone through its resonance behavior and causes hysteresis. Instead of solving the problems caused by aluminum later, Audio Group Denmark has chosen to tackle the problem at its source and therefore no longer uses aluminum in its products. The conductors are silver-plated and are stripped by a special machine to avoid damaging the conductor surface. The Ansuz Mainz X3 is a very tightly twisted cable, which reduces noise in the conductors and improves mechanical stability. The Ansuz Mainz X3 is handmade in the Audio Group Denmark factory in Aalborg, Denmark.

Sound Characteristics: The Ansuz Acoustics Mainz X3 has a natural and lively sound. The bass is tight and rhythmic, and the dynamics are excellent. Still, the sound remains within comfortable boundaries. The sound is transparent as it should be, but it is not unnecessary spectacle; you recognize this in the Ansuz character that all Ansuz cables possess. Everything you hear is pure music; we could talk about the body of the bass and the detail in the treble. But with Ansuz Acoustics, we don't need to talk about that; instead, we talk about the enormous musical qualities that Ansuz Acoustics products bring with them.
