Overview : The new Gigawatt PowerSync Ultra powercord is the latest High End Line powercord from Gigawatt. A new copper formula, made from pure OFHC copper and even more copper as conductor. This new PowerSync Ultra cable moves considerably towards the Reference cables LS-1 Evo and LS-2 Evo. The PowerSync Ultra is fully shielded with aluminum foil and equipped with premium connectors. We have not seen better connectors in this price range. This very high quality powercord is highly suitable for many hi-fi and video components, and the Gigawatt Powerstrips and Powerconditioners also perform excellently with this cable. We believe the Gigawatt PowerSync Ultra is the absolute reference powercord in its price class.

Technical Details : A Powercord consists of a few essential components :

• The Conductor(s)

• The Dielectric, or the layer around the conductors

• The Connectors on both sides

Gigawatt uses only pure quality in their products. The difference between all Gigawatt cables lies in the choice of materials, the amount of conductive material, the damping properties and the shielding and possible use of Nano filters.

The Gigawatt PowerSync Ultra consists of 8 pieces of 1.6mm² cables, each made up of 7 individual strands. Gigawatt has chosen for the first time with the PowerSync Ultra to replace solid core cables with 7 slightly smaller solid core cables. This makes the PowerSync Ultra much more flexible than its predecessor. These are also the latest OFHC cables. OFHC stands for Oxygen Free High Conductivity 99.997% copper. The Gigawatt PowerSync Ultra powercord has 3 x Phase, 3 x Neutral, 2 x Ground and 1 uninsulated tinned wire for contact with the shielding foil along the entire length of the cable. This ground wire is connected to the Schuko connector, but not to the IEC connector. This is to prevent ground loop. Each conductor is therefore 4.8mm² in cross-section. The insulation of the PowerSync Ultra is made of Polyethylene and the vibration damping layer is made of PVC. The PowerSync Ultra powercord is fully shielded with aluminum foil. The 3 bundles are grouped together in a PVC insulation jacket for stability and vibration damping. The very low impedance of the cable makes the LC-3 Evo suitable for better High End audio and video installations. The connection plugs are completely new. The LC-3 MK3+ had the gold-plated connectors of the LC-2 MK3+. The new PowerSync Ultra has completely new Rhodium plated connectors and these are even executed with a milled aluminum housing. These new connectors, together with the new copper formula and geometry, provide a completely new sound level for your equipment.

Listening : The Gigawatt PowerSync Ultra is a cable that strongly resembles the LS-1 Evo cable. The PowerSync Ultra sounds more refined, more powerful and especially faster and quieter than its predecessor and it has a larger and better defined 3D image. The dynamics are superb, and not only the fine dynamics, the large dynamic jumps are handled effortlessly. The bass reproduction is tighter, deeper, and better defined than before. The Gigawatt PowerSync Ultra is the ideal entry cable into the Reference High End Audio world, and the sound difference compared to standard included cables is enormous. The Gigawatt PowerSync Ultra powercord is, due to its overall very high quality, highly suitable for all Reference Class High End Audio equipment, both sources and power amplifiers.
