General: The Ansuz Acoustics Mainz A3 is the latest cable in the A-series of Ansuz Acoustics from Denmark. The Ansuz Mainz A3 replaces the Mainz A2. The new Mainz A3 belongs to the Copper Series of Ansuz Acoustics. The Copper Series of Ansuz is called the Copper Series because the gold-plated connectors are housed in a solid copper casing. The predecessor of the Mainz A3, the Mainz A2, had connectors in an aluminum casing. And for Ansuz Acoustics that is a problem. Audio Group Denmark (of which Ansuz is a part) is constantly investigating different materials. Titanium, Copper, Stainless Steel and even Zirconium are frequently used. Ansuz is working to completely avoid aluminum in its new products. Aluminum has a negative effect on sound, it gives an artificial tone through its resonance behavior and causes hysteresis. Rather than solving the problems caused by aluminum later, Audio Group Denmark has chosen to address the problem at its source and therefore no longer use aluminum in its products. The conductors are silver-plated and are stripped by a special machine to avoid damaging the conductor surface. The Ansuz Mainz A3 is a very stiff twisted cable which ensures less noise in the conductors and improved mechanical stability. In the Ansuz Mainz A3, in addition to the solid-core main conductors, 24 smaller 0.3mm² conductors are also used, which are wrapped in a double helix pattern. These smaller conductors are called Double Inverted Helix Coils (DIHC). The Ansuz Mainz A3 therefore has more conductors than the X3 and the X-TC3. The Ansuz Mainz A3 is handmade at the Audio Group Denmark factory in Aalborg, Denmark.

Sound Characteristics: The Ansuz Acoustics Mainz A3 has a natural, powerful and spatial sound. The bass is deep, tight and rhythmic and the dynamics are excellent. The Ansuz Mainz A3 clearly has more body and calm in the sound compared to the already excellent Ansuz Mainz X3 and X-TC3 powercords. More happens in the sound image and you hear more layers in the recording. The sound is transparent as it should be, but it is not unnecessary spectacle. This is recognizable in the Ansuz character that virtually all Ansuz cables possess. Everything you hear is pure music. We could talk about certain details and accents, but with Ansuz Acoustics we don't need to go into that. Instead, we talk about the enormous musical qualities that Ansuz Acoustics products bring with them. The Ansuz Mainz A3 is absolutely no exception to this. The spatial imaging is large, airy and pleasant, and you are immediately drawn into the performers and the music. The time to listen to sounds has passed, the time to listen to music has begun.
