General: The Ansuz Acoustics Mainz C3 is the latest cable in the C-series from Ansuz Acoustics from Denmark. The Ansuz Mainz C3 replaces the Mainz C2. The new Mainz C3 belongs to the Copper Series of Ansuz Acoustics. The Copper Series from Ansuz is called the Copper Series because the gold-plated connectors are housed in a solid copper enclosure. The predecessor of the Mainz C3, the Mainz C2, had connectors in an aluminum enclosure. And that presents a problem for Ansuz Acoustics. Audio Group Denmark (which Ansuz falls under) is constantly investigating different materials. Titanium, Copper, Stainless Steel and even Zirconium are frequently used. Ansuz is working to completely avoid aluminum in its new products. Aluminum has a negative effect on sound, it produces an artificial tone due to its resonance behavior and causes hysteresis. Rather than solving the problems caused by aluminum later, Audio Group Denmark has chosen to tackle the problem at its source and no longer use aluminum in its products. The conductors are silver-plated and stripped by a special machine to avoid damaging the conductor surface. The Ansuz Mainz A3 is a very stiffly twisted cable which reduces noise in the conductors and improves mechanical stability. The Ansuz Mainz C3 also uses 24 smaller 0.3mm² conductors in addition to the solidcore main conductors, which are wound in a double Helix pattern. These smaller conductors are called Double Inverted Helix Coils (DIHC). The Ansuz Mainz C3 therefore has more conductors than the X3 and the X-TC3 and the same number of conductors as the Mainz A3. Additionally, the Mainz C3 also incorporates Ansuz Anti Aerial Resonance Coils (AARC) compared to the Ansuz Mainz A3. Because the Ansuz Mainz C3 also has the AARC technology, there is less noise in your equipment compared to the Ansuz Mainz A3, X-TC3 and X3. The Ansuz Mainz C3 is handmade at the Audio Group Denmark factory in Aalborg, Denmark.

Sound Characteristics: The Ansuz Acoustics Mainz C3 has a natural, powerful and spatial sound. The bass is deep, tight and rhythmic and the dynamics are excellent. The Ansuz Mainz C3 has a clear difference compared to the A3, X-TC3 and X3 in that it sounds more lively, freer and more transparent. The sound moves and lives even more and is much more engaging to listen to. There is more happening in the soundfield and you hear more layers in the recording. The sound is transparent as it should be but it is not unnecessary spectacle, you can recognize this in the Ansuz character that actually all Ansuz cables possess. Everything you hear is pure music, we could talk about certain details and accents. But at Ansuz Acoustics we don't need to talk about that, instead we talk about the enormous musical qualities that Ansuz Acoustics products bring with them. The Ansuz Mainz C3 is absolutely no exception to this. The spatial imaging is large, airy and pleasant and you are immediately involved with the performers and the music.
