General: Large 2-Way High End Magnetostatic Speakers from Analysis Audio.

Technology: The Analysis Audio Amphitryon are handmade in Greece, the cabinet is made of solid wood and they have a very special yet calm appearance. A design that looks very beautiful for magnetostatic planar speakers. In terms of specifications, the Analysis Audio Amphitryon are not the easiest speakers to drive, but once connected to a good quality amplifier with some power (including tube amplifiers) you will notice that everything becomes easier and smoother than expected. This is due to the very stable impedance and the large range of the impressive 2-meter-high ribbons where the sound is directed much more forward than with cones and dome tweeters and in comparison remains sounding harder and more stable when you sit further away. In fact, if you play a standard speaker and the Analysis Audio Amphitryon both at 86dB from 1 meter away, then at 4 meters away the standard speaker sounds 74dB and the Analysis Audio Amphitryon still 80dB. This is a difference of 6dB, or 2 times as loud as the standard speaker. This also results in a smoother 6dB per octave crossover where the low, mid and high tones sound more balanced at a distance and sound as they should.

Listening: The Analysis Audio Amphitryon sound very refined and detailed. The bass goes deeper than some cone speakers and remains absolutely pure. The soundstage is enormous and lively, everything is placed exactly in the right spot and the Analysis Audio Amphitryon provide a true live experience. Once connected to a good set and placed in the right room, the Analysis Audio Amphitryon really come alive and provide an unprecedented breathtaking listening experience every time you sit down in front of these high-end giants. The Analysis Audio Amphitryon are extremely good, durable and very exclusive. For this price you will not easily find anything better, chances are very high that you never want to part with them. Analysis Audio speakers are virtually indestructible. This set of Analysis Audio Amphitryon is 12 years old, in excellent condition, includes the original crates and is ready for many years of musical enjoyment in your home.
