The Bricasti M-25 is the new Dual Mono stereo power amplifier from Bricasti. The M-25 is absolutely unique in both sound and technology and is positioned between the M-15 and the M-28 monoblock amplifiers.

General:

Bricasti USA manufactures high-end audio equipment for studio use. There is a good chance that you own CDs or LPs that were mixed using Bricasti equipment. In particular, the digital reverb processors are world-renowned. For about 10 years now, Bricasti has also been making high-end equipment for the home. The first product was the excellently reviewed M-1 DSD/PCM DA Converter. The first Dual Mono DA Converter in the world capable of decoding all digital signals. The second product from Bricasti is the M-28 Mono Power Amplifier. This was followed by the M-1 SE, the M-5 Streamer, the M-12 Source Controller and others, and of course the fantastic sounding M-15 Power Amplifier. We present to you here the new Bricasti M-25, the Dual Mono version of the Bricasti M-15. The Bricasti M-25 is the challenger to other top stereo power amplifiers such as the Soulution 710, the Spectral DMA300RS, the Mark Levinson 532 and other top amplifiers.

Technology:

The M-25 is derived from the exclusive and outstanding Bricasti M-15 Stereo amplifier and the M-28 monoblock amplifiers. The M-25 is best seen as the Dual Mono and more powerful version of the M-15. This starts with the M-25's chassis. The chassis is the foundation upon which everything is built. The Bricasti M-25 is entirely constructed from CNC-machined aluminum panels. This chassis is completely resonance-free and therefore extremely stable, which offers great sonic advantages. This is often overlooked, but vibrations cause changing sound quality and must be avoided. The Bricasti M-25 is then equipped with 2 enormous power supplies, completely separate, discretely regulated, and these provide all parts with their own independently regulated power supply line. The construction of the Bricasti M-25 itself is completely balanced, from input to output. The output power may seem modest—150 watts per channel at 8 ohms—but the Bricasti M-25 is suitable for all loudspeakers, even those with difficult impedances. The Bricasti M-25 delivers continuously at 2 ohms a 2 x 600 Watt and you will be amazed at the power output and the ease with which this power is delivered. You can therefore also drive very difficult speakers if needed. The chassis remains sufficiently cool under all conditions.

Power and Current Settings:

The Bricasti M-25 can be set in 4 ways.

1. Completely off, main power button off. Unit is fully switched off. Consumption: 0 watts

2. Standby minimal. Main power button on. LED flashes quickly. Consumption: 1 watt

3. Standby normal. Main power button on. LED flashes slowly. Consumption: 80 watts.

4. On. LED is constantly lit. Consumption Idle: 170 Watts. Unit is playing music.

Inputs:

The Bricasti M-25 of course has XLR inputs, and in this case they are true balanced inputs. The Bricasti M-25 is indeed completely balanced from input to output. A set of RCA inputs is also available to you. If you want to use the RCA inputs, jumpers must be placed in the XLR input to prevent part of the amplifier from being inactive. The Bricasti M-25 has an adjustable, relay-controlled input sensitivity circuit, with which you can optimize each pre-stage in 3 steps of 6db. The Bricasti M-25 stands on special Stillpoints feet with ball bearings for isolation.

Listening: The Bricasti M-25 has a clearly perceptible natural and analog character, and actually no own "sound". The Single PSU M15 has all audiophile qualities such as open, 3D, fast and pure and a warm bass reproduction, but does so without imprinting its own signature on the sound. The Bricasti M-25 sounds essentially the same, but has a bit more power and dynamics, more in the direction of the M-28 Monoblock amplifiers. The Bricasti M-25 does not participate in the craze to try to sound as bright and as fast as possible, whereby the result is that the reproduction sounds glassy, thin and sometimes downright aggressive. That is not what matters with Bricasti amplifiers—it's not about how much bass they provide, or how sharp the dynamics are, no, it's about how these amplifiers render the music. An excellent sound system gives music that embraces you, and not sound that attacks you. But dynamically, the M-25 really holds its own. Incredibly good. Just play a drum solo, loud, and then you'll know what we mean. The Bricasti M-25 combines this fantastic quality with the audiophile properties of other modern top amplifiers, such as air, imaging and a 3D soundstage.
