The Reference 3A Episode is a floorstanding high efficiency loudspeaker with some very special details. The very special bass/midrange driver is made of carbon and this unit has no crossover filter with all the advantages that brings. No crossover filter means no losses, no phase errors and a very homogeneous and dynamic reproduction. The tweeter is a very fine silk dome tweeter, and as a bonus there is also a very special 10mm supertweeter installed. The cabinet is solidly built and sits very beautifully stable on heavy metal feet and very large solid brass spikes. Sound-wise, the Reference 3A is a true top-performer. This loudspeaker sounds truly very open and pure. The bass is beautiful and goes down nicely deep. The treble is soft and fresh, and totally not harsh, but very airy. The 3D image is large and precise. Combine this Reference 3A Episode with a good tube or transistor amplifier, such as the Lector ZXT-60 tube hybrid, and you have fantastic sound in your home. The Reference 3A is a loudspeaker where it is about the music and not about the technology. This Reference 3A set is in excellent condition and complete with spikes and original packaging.
