Technical : The Accuphase DP-700 is the former flagship CD/SACD player from Accuphase, later replaced by the DP-720 and DP-750. Everything about it shows that Accuphase went all out to create the optimal CD/SACD player. The chassis is extremely solidly built and filled with very high-quality and durable components and an enormous power supply. The Accuphase DP-700 weighs no less than 27 kg. The transport is a floating mechanism developed by Accuphase which is mounted on dampers and features a massive aluminum bridge. This transport has a low center of gravity, which combined with the floating design ensures that the CD transport is not affected by external resonances, resulting in more stable and cleaner music playback. The DAC in the Accuphase DP-700 is also very special. The music signal is slowed down 7 times and spread over 8 clock cycles before entering the 8 individual DACs, after which the 8 signals are combined. Accuphase calls this the MDSD principle DAC and this method of signal processing provides virtually perfect linear phase characteristics. In other words, virtually no distortion. This DAC also has external digital inputs (Coax and Toslink) so that a streamer or television can also be connected, for example. These digital inputs accept formats up to 24bit/96kHz.
