General : The Melody WE-2688 Signature is an extremely exclusive reference class preamplifier, comparable to the Zanden 3000 and 3100 preamplifiers and the ideal match for the Melody MP 211 MAX monoblock amplifiers.

Technical : The Melody WE-2688 Signature is a tube preamplifier made with only the best and most expensive components. The Melody WE-2688 Signature is entirely point-to-point wired, which means that no audio/music signals run through PCBs, but are transferred directly. This is extremely solid and very convenient for any potential service, but above all, it simply sounds better than ordinary printed circuit boards. The components used are Mundorf Supreme Silver-oil in Silver Capacitors and Nichicon Gold tune Capacitors. Expensive stuff, but very solid. The rectification is also done with a tube, the Melody 274B. Usually you see ordinary rectifiers in tube preamplifiers, but..the tube sounds better. Furthermore, there is also a Western Electric 416 tube, a Planar Triode, and a Western Electric 373A tube. You can safely forget about them, and these tubes are all readily available, and moreover, they last a very long time. The volume control is very solid and smooth, with small increments, not as rash as the Melody Everest 845, which reacts very quickly. The Melody WE-2688 Signature is a sublime preamplifier and is beautifully built, we cannot say otherwise, and fortunately the sound quality is also extremely good.

Listening : The Melody WE-2688 Signature is a true tube amplifier, including rectification via tubes, and the sound quality is sublime. The Melody WE-2688 Signature sounds very open, pure, fine dynamic and the 3D presentation is excellent.
