Technical : The PrimaLuna EVO 400 A is a very well-built tube power amplifier with various options for playing music. The PrimaLuna EVO 400 A can be set to Triode mode for 38 Watts per channel, but also in ultra-linear mode in which the power is as much as 70 Watts per channel. Additionally, you can also use it as a mono power amplifier with a second PrimaLuna EVO 400 A to double the power for even more control. Due to the amount of power the PrimaLuna Evo 400 A can deliver, you can drive many speakers with it, including speakers with average efficiency.

The PrimaLuna EVO 400 A is designed to make playing with tubes as easy as possible. You can switch between ultra-linear or triode mode from the couch with the included remote. In the event that a tube fails, the Adaptive AutoBias will intervene and put the amplifier in a safety mode so that the amplifier and other tubes cannot be damaged. A red LED will indicate which tube needs to be replaced, insert a new tube and the Auto Bias adjusts itself so you can continue playing immediately without having to purchase a complete new matched set of tubes or recalibrate the amplifier itself. The 4 EL34 tubes for the power stage are not expensive to purchase and have a long lifespan.

Listening : The PrimaLuna EVO 400 A sounds very impressive and powerful for a tube amplifier. You immediately notice that the amplifier has sufficient grip on the speakers, and these don't necessarily have to be high-efficiency horn speakers. The spatial imaging is large and the bass is deep, full and musical. But as with most tube amplifiers, the pleasure lies mainly in the voices and acoustic instruments and the emotion and 'flair' with which these are presented in your room. Time and time again, the PrimaLuna EVO 400 A invites you to keep listening to your favorite recordings.

This PrimaLuna EVO 400 A is in excellent condition and comes with the original packaging and accessories, including tube cage and remote. The original tubes, 8 x EL34 and the original driver tubes, with very few playing hours are supplied separately. The EVO 400 A now plays with Tung Sol KT150 and Genalex Gold Lion driver tubes.
