Technology : The Wadia 860 is a very well-built CD player. Your CDs sound truly perfect. This Wadia 860 had a new transport mechanism installed some years ago and is good for many more years. The transport used is the renowned Teac / Esoteric VRDS. The built-in DA Converter is only suitable for CDs, but the Wadia 860 does that perfectly. Much better than many top-class CD/SACD players. Via the digital inputs it is also possible to connect your streamer digitally. Your ripped CDs will sound superb through the Wadia 860. Many digital inputs are available, such as AES/EBU, SPDIF, Toslink and ST. The Wadia 860 has a built-in preamplifier with volume control, and you can connect it directly to your power amplifiers.

Sound Characteristics : the Wadia 860 sounds particularly robust. Solid in the bass, an analog midrange and silky-smooth and highly refined treble. When connected directly to the power amplifiers, it becomes clear that the built-in class A preamplifier is fully designed for its task.
