General : The Franco Serblin Accordo is a very luxurious 2-way monitor speaker on its corresponding stand. It can hardly be called a speaker; rather, it is a beautifully sounding work of art.

Technical : The unique appearance of the Franco Serblin is not only designed to look very beautiful; through the uneven angles and asymmetrical cabinet, resonances are very cleverly avoided and dissipated. It is an open cabinet with a bass reflex system on the slanted rear side. This bass port produces very little 'noise' and because it is directed diagonally backward, it is possible to place the speakers reasonably close to the rear wall without problems, although some space is of course always desirable, as with any other speaker. The enclosure is made of solid walnut wood, which is very unique given the shape of the cabinet. Solid walnut is very sturdy and therefore not the easiest wood to work with and shape to your liking. The tweeter is a 29mm silk dome tweeter, designed by Ragnar Lian, a Danish master in the design of driver units. The midrange/bass woofer is a 15cm driver specially designed for the Accordo.

Listening : The amount of work that has gone into the Franco Serblin Accordo is clearly evident in the design and technology used, but what is of course very important is whether you can hear it. We can be brief about this: Yes. The sound is completely balanced; you have virtually no idea that there are crossover transitions, the bass, midrange, and treble blend so smoothly into one another. The bass is beautifully round and never excessive; thanks to the clever and brilliant cabinet design, there are virtually no cabinet resonances audible in the bass response. The midrange and treble are very refined with a slightly warm character. This is typically a speaker where you can listen for hours on end without experiencing listening fatigue. Additionally, just looking at these speakers is a pleasure in itself.
