The German Physiks the Carbon MKIV is an omnidirectional 2-way system. The bass is produced by a 12-inch woofer at the bottom. But from 190 Hz onwards, the German Physiks Carbon DDD omnidirectional driver handles the entire frequency range up to 24,000 Hz. This results in minimal filtering present in the speaker, which provides cleaner reproduction. Additionally, the transition from the midrange to the midrange and from the mid range to the treble is extremely smooth because all of this is produced by the same driver. Of course, the soundstage is gigantic, since it remains an omnidirectional speaker, but the image is also better defined and more stable than we are used to from an omnidirectional speaker. The 12-inch woofer is in an enclosed compartment and does its job excellently, delivering a very deep, tight, and controlled bass response that blends beautifully with the rest of the package. The sound can be described as clean, transparent, and refined, and above all, extraordinarily spacious. Above the Bi-Wire loudspeaker connections, consisting of high-quality WBT NextGen™ connectors, you will also find an additional option to adjust the treble to your personal taste via a jumper. This allows you to reduce the treble by 2dB, keep it neutral, or increase it by 2dB or 4dB. The German Physik The Carbon can also play incredibly loud, and does so without the " in your face " sound of many other speakers. The German Physiks the Carbon MKIV excels with many types of music genres, whether it's steady electronic music, quiet violin music, large symphonic orchestras, or lively improvisational jazz music.
