The new Gigawatt LC-3 EVO powercord is Gigawatt's latest High End Line powercord. A new copper formula, now made from pure OFHC copper with even more copper as conductor. This new LC-3 Evo cable moves quite far in the direction of the Reference cables LS-1 Evo and LS-2 Evo. The LC-3 Evo is fully shielded with aluminium foil and equipped with superior connectors. We have not seen better connectors in this price range. This very high quality powercord is very suitable for many hi-fi and video components, and the Gigawatt Powerstips and Powerconditioners also perform excellently with this cable. We believe the Gigawatt LC-3 Evo is the absolute reference cable for powercords in its price class.

Gigawatt uses only pure quality in their products. The difference between all Gigawatt cables lies in the choice of materials, the amount of conductive material, the damping properties and the shielding and possible application of Nano filters.

The Gigawatt LC-3 EVO consists of 8 pieces of 1.6mm2 cables, each consisting of 7 individual strands. With the LC-3 Evo, Gigawatt has chosen for the first time to replace the solidcore cables with 7 slightly smaller solidcore cables. The LC-3 Evo is therefore much more flexible than its predecessor. They are also the newest OFHC cables. OFHC stands for Oxygen Free High Conductivity 99.997% copper. The Gigawatt LC-3 Evo powercord has 3 x Phase, 3 x Neutral, 2 x Earth and 1 uninsulated tinned wire for contact with the shielding foil along the entire length of the cable. This earth wire is connected at the Schuko connector, but not at the IEC connector. This prevents a ground loop. Each conductor is therefore 4.8mm2 in cross-section. The insulation of the LC-3 EVO is made of Polyethylene and the vibration damping layer is made of PVC. The LC-3 EVO powercord is fully shielded with aluminium foil. The 3 bundles are again combined in a PVC insulation jacket for stability and vibration damping. The very low impedance of the cable makes the LC-3 EVO suitable for high-end audio and video installations. The connectors are completely new. The LC-3 MK3+ had the gold-plated connectors of the LC-2 MK3+. The new LC-3 Evo has completely new Rhodium plated connectors and these are even executed with a milled aluminum housing. These new connectors, together with the new copper formula and geometry, create an entirely new sound level in your equipment.

Sound Quality :

The Gigawatt LC-3 EVO is a cable that strongly resembles the LS-1 Evo cable. The LC-3 Evo sounds more powerful and especially faster and quieter than its predecessor and has a larger and better defined 3D image. The dynamics are superb, and not only the fine dynamics, but also the large dynamic jumps are handled effortlessly. The bass reproduction is tighter, deeper, and better defined than before. The Gigawatt LC-3 Evo is the ideal entry cable into the Reference High End Audio world, and the sound difference with the standard supplied cables is enormous. The Gigawatt LC-3 Evo powercord, with its overall very high quality, is very suitable for all Reference Class High End Audio equipment, both sources and power amplifiers.
