Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage
EN.
Overall : Very exclusive and excellent sounding monitor speakers. The Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage is the original work of Franco Serblin, a Homage to the Italian violin-making family Guarneri. The Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage is built using the same techniques as the violins that were built at that time. The Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage is also the only speaker that has been included in the exhibition of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Technique : The Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage is built from solid walnut rods, which are cut in the shape of a lute. These are glued together with the same type of adhesive that was previously used in violin making. Between the walnut rods is a very thin layer of solid ebony glued to distribute the resonances. The cabinet itself is damped in some places on the inside with slices of lead and copper, and on the outside the very beautiful cabinet is finished with 10 layers of violin lacquer. The units used are of the highest quality. An Audio Technology High Tech woofer with enormous excursion, and a Dynaudio Esotar tweeter, which is equipped with a solid birch resonance chamber at the rear. Techniques that you rarely or never encounter nowadays.
Sound : The Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage sounds very natural, rich in tone, and with very fine dynamics. Compared to the Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage, many speakers sound cluttered and distorted. The sound image is very expansive and exciting but also very soothing. Of course, the Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage is not the ideal speaker for a disco party, but they can still achieve a decent sound level. The Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage is the ideal speaker for the true music lover, who puts the music first and foremost, and not the technology or maximum sound pressure.
