General : The Sonus Faber Serafino Tradition is an entirely new model in the Homage series. The Serafino sits precisely between the Guarneri and the Amati, and it sounds like the Amati Tradition. We know all Sonus Faber Homage models very well, and this Serafino is truly a super welcome addition to the Homage lineup.

Technology : For the new Sonus Faber Serafino Tradition, a number of new techniques have been developed, and new speaker units have been designed and built. In principle, the Serafino is a slightly smaller Amati Tradition, and the techniques are exactly the same. The enclosure is made of resonance-free laminated wood and is truly beautifully finished. A thick layer of wood, Wenge or Maple red, and then lacquered ten times. Then polished. You cannot get more elegant than this. In the construction of the speaker units for the Sonus Faber Serafino Tradition, Sonus Faber has also chosen drivers made from natural materials. The bass units feature a lightweight sandwich cone with paper and a foam core. Super fast, rigid, and without annoying resonances. The midrange driver is a neodymium-driven cone, also made from multiple layers of foam and paper. The tweeter is a large (28mm) neodymium-driven silk dome with an Arrow Point. Super-fast units without overhang or annoying resonances. The back pressure chamber of the tweeter at the rear is milled from a solid block of wood. Both the bass units and the midrange and tweeter are among the most naturally sounding units available. The bass units themselves are slightly smaller than those of the Amati Tradition, 180mm instead of 220mm, but are of the same high quality. The bass section is supported by a very pure Stealth Ultra Flex bass port. Not a boomy port, but a quiet and very deeply tuned bass port. The top and bottom of the enclosure are made from a milled piece of aluminum from the CNC machine, which is then inlaid with beautiful solid Wenge or Maple wood. Technically very advanced, and this has a significant impact on the excellent sound quality of this Sonus Faber Serafino Tradition.

The efficiency of this Sonus Faber Serafino Tradition is above average, and even with smaller amplifiers, this Sonus Faber Serafino Tradition performs excellently.
