Technical : The Sonus Faber Stradivari Homage is a speaker like no other. Made to have the form of an instrument and built with the utmost care and the finest materials. Magnificently finished in the beautiful, generously lacquered Red Violin finish with leather center panel and black sides. The drivers consist of two 12" aluminum/magnesium basswoofers specially made for Sonus Faber by SEAS. For the midtones and mid-bass, a 6" Audio Technology pulp midrange driver is used. For the high tones, a custom-made Scan-Speak silk ring radiator tweeter is used. This tweeter was specially made for the Stradivari, as the Stradivari features a very wide baffle and the radiation pattern of the Scan-Speak ring radiator tweeter handles this well. The Sonus Faber Stradivari is an open speaker with a bass-reflex system at the rear; this port is tuned in conjunction with the entire cabinet volume. The tweeter and midrange are in their own reinforced sub-enclosure within the cabinet and have their own ventilation port.

Listening : The Sonus Faber Stradivari Homage is a highly musical speaker. Thanks to its unique and heavily constructed cabinet, you hardly hear any resonances from the cabinet. However, the Sonus Faber Stradivari needs space, so it prefers to be placed a bit away from the rear wall. Once properly set up and connected to a high-quality amplifier, it's pure enjoyment. The bass reproduction is very deep and tight, a simply pleasurable bass to listen to. The midtones and high tones are very pleasant and detailed. The tempo and rhythm of the Sonus Faber Stradivari Homage are very good; these are not slow and woolly speakers. These are lively and organically sounding speakers without listener fatigue. You immediately lose yourself in the recording, and the only thing you think about when the album ends is which album to listen to next. Beyond their great musical qualities, the Sonus Faber Stradivari Homage are of course also true works of art to look at; you'll find them more beautiful every day.

This pair of Sonus Faber Stradivari Homage speakers is in a remarkably beautiful condition; the lacquer and leather look truly immaculate. No discoloration or dry spots.

The elastics on the front have been renewed by Sonus Faber themselves. The boxes for these beautiful speakers are present but have suffered water damage; the boxes are no longer in perfect condition but are still usable for transport.
