General : The Wilson Audio Maxx 2 is a Reference Class Loudspeaker System.

Technical : The Wilson Maxx 2 is a very heavy loudspeaker. When assembled, the system weighs 200 kg per side. Not really suitable for people in an attic room with a narrow access staircase, let's say. Place the Wilson Maxx 2 in a spacious room with a solid floor. The enclosure is made of Wilson's own M and X material. This is a type of wood material filled with heavy components. This material is difficult to work with and therefore production is a lengthy process. The Maxx 2 consists of 2 separate parts. A bass cabinet and the mid/high enclosure. The mid/high enclosure can be adjusted to your listening position. The bass enclosure itself has 2 enormous woofers, each with its own diameter. Together they provide the most massive and pure bass reproduction you could wish for. The Wilson Maxx 2 effortlessly goes deep. The mid/high enclosure is equipped with carbon/paper midrange drivers and a pure inverted titanium tweeter. This enclosure is completely adjustable, both in angle and in distance to the woofer. You can therefore completely phase-align the Wilson Maxx 2 to your listening position.

Listening : Describing the Wilson Audio Maxx 2 in acoustic terms is not difficult. It is simply one of the best loudspeakers in the world. Sounding grand, impressively dynamic, and yet relatively easy to drive. They sound impressive in compact rooms, even more impressive in larger listening spaces, and excel in very large listening rooms. In terms of sound quality, you can't wish for much more. Abysmally deep bass, very pure and complete. Very open and clear sounding midrange and treble. A very pure high-frequency reproduction without any harshness.
