The term world music is used casually and often. It's no wonder, as a great deal of excellent music comes from all parts of the world that doesn't fit neatly into other categories. This beautiful album was recorded in China, on a recording machine with a few hundred tracks. An attempt was made to create a cohesive whole and it succeeded wonderfully. Gorgeous atmospheric music, and very well recorded and mixed. Sometimes very subtle and quiet, then again thunderous power. Such as "Sky Burial". A small but very fierce voice, and huge timpani hits. Beautiful. Or "The Turning Scripture". A chaotic beginning of monk chanting with massive wind instruments, building towards singing and big climaxes. A top album for many musical and audiophile moments.
