Roon Radio
Roon has always been the connection between you and the music you have collected over time. Roon has always had a radio function. When this is on, Roon starts playing similar music after your playlist ends. So if you were playing a Pink Floyd CD, and the CD is finished, Roon will fetch similar music and play it. In this case, Symphonic Rock. The new Roon Radio function now plays a mix of similar and favorite music after your session ends, but now not only from the hard drive/SSD but also from Tidal and Qobuz. This is to discover more new music. Furthermore, Roon now uses recommendations from other Roon users. You can now give your favorite music a "thumbs up" or "Thumbs down". Other Roon users can do that too. After your session ends, you will now enjoy your own favorite music, and that of other users. This is the perfect way to discover the best music in your genre.
Appearance and other
The Roon control app has received a completely new and more modern appearance. It indeed looks more attractive, and you also get more information about the artists.
DSP
Roon's DSP is the digital processor that can make various adjustments to the sound. You can easily solve room problems, for example by removing bass boom, softening the high end or amplifier adjustments and such. This DSP has been improved. However, we at Ohm-Audio BV find it sounds better when the DSP is completely turned off. It is a good DSP, but pure and unchanged it simply sounds a bit better.
Update
The new Roon version 1.6 will be automatically updated in your Antipodes Audio EX, CX and DX streamers and also the old versions, Edge, Core, DS Base, DS GT, do this completely automatically. Note! When you upgrade your control app, your screen may go black for 1 minute. Roon is working hard to install the new app. After a minute you can use the Roon app on your iPad, iPhone, Android and so on again, but now with the new version!
