The Lector Digicode 704/2 is the balanced version of the acclaimed Digitube S192 DA Converter. The DA conversion is performed using 4 multibit R2R Burr Brown DAC Chips. Both the digital signal and the analog output signal are fully balanced. The output stage is handled by 4 long life tubes, 2 for the left channel and 2 for the right channel. The dual tube sets are necessary for the fully balanced outputs. The Lector Digicode 704/2 is therefore a true balanced DA Converter. Unbalanced outputs are also available. Another difference from the Digitube S192 is that the Digicode features an external power supply. The Digicode 704/2 is supplied with the PSU218. The Lector PSU218 is an external power supply with 3 completely separate power circuits for analog and digital, including 3 separate transformers. One for the analog section, one for the digital section, and one for the tubes. These circuits can also be switched on and off separately. You can therefore keep the digital part of the Lector Digicode 704/2 powered for maximum sound quality, and turn off the power to the analog output stage, including the tubes. The long life ECC-81 tubes reach operating temperature within a quarter hour and then sound as intended. The Lector Digicode 704/2 is equipped with 3 digital inputs as standard. 1 x AES/EBU, 1 x SPDIF Coax and 1 x SPDIF BNC. The Lector Digicode 704/2 has a resolution of 24Bit/192 KHz on every input. The Lector Digicode 704/2 is therefore a D/A converter that you can use in any situation, and which provides you with optimal sound quality in every situation.
