General: The Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 is the compact version of the Gran Gioia SE and MK2

Technical: The Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 is a full range horn loudspeaker system. This means that both the bass and midrange/treble are completely reproduced by a horn. This provides a very coherent sound. Where the large Gran Gioia SE has an enormous 38cm woofer, which is very rigidly suspended, the Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 has 2 smaller woofers of 23cm, which are flexibly suspended via a roll surround. The woofers are positioned above and below the midrange/treble horn, creating a true phase-coherent D'Appolito configuration. All frequencies therefore come from one point. Adjustment options are not available, and are also unnecessary. The crossover frequency is very low, at 750Hz. This means that a very large portion is reproduced by the very fine and sensitive midrange horn, which is made of solid wood. The crossover filter itself is housed in a separate chamber, so resonances can no longer affect the components. The Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 is relatively compact, but it is still a substantial loudspeaker, and now this loudspeaker can be perfectly integrated into small, medium-sized and large listening rooms. The woofers are super fast and blend completely with the mid/treble horn. The efficiency is very high, 95dB/1m, but is thus somewhat lower than the 100 dB/1m of the Gran Gioia SE. The Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 can be excellently driven by high-quality transistor amplifiers, but also with relatively small tube amplifiers the new Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 plays fantastically.

Listening: Listening to the Blumenhofer Gran Gioia series is breathtaking. Forget the polished reproduction of many high-end speakers. Experience the authenticity and purity of reproduction through these speakers. Listen to a drum, or a concert grand piano, and you hear the authenticity within 1 second. The Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 has the same sonic characteristics as the larger Gran Gioia SE. The openness, clarity, speech intelligibility are at the same high level. But the Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 also sounds different. Somewhat less upfront, but a bit more relaxed. The large Gran Gioia SE sounds absolutely best with (Single Ended) tube amplifiers, but the Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 can also work excellently with good transistor amplifiers. And these don't even have to be super-powerful amplifiers. Because of the 95dB efficiency of the Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10, these can also be small amplifiers. 2 x 10 Watts is already quite a lot for the Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10. However, you must connect a very good amplifier to the Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 because the Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 lets you hear everything. The 3D imaging of the Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 is also striking. The Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 has virtually the same large imaging precision as, for example, a Magico S3 Mk2, or Avalon Indra, or for example the Wilson Sasha. But in one aspect the Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 certainly outshines the competition, and that is the naturalness of the reproduction. And then we're not just talking about the 3D imaging, or depth in the sound, but also certainly the dynamic reproduction. Listen to some fine jazz music, and you hear a drum kit, the way a drum kit should sound. Then the competition falls silent. The bass reproduction is also remarkable. The Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 doesn't sound fat and heavy, but rather fast and airy in the low end. A double bass, for example, sounds noticeably clearer on the Blumenhofer Gran Gioia 2x10 than the competition.
