Overview: The new Gigawatt PowerSync Plus powercord is the latest powercord from Gigawatt. The PowerSync Plus is an improved and thicker version of the standard PowerSync. With conductors made from pure OFHC copper. Fully shielded with aluminum foil, PVC and braided fiberglass & nylon, and equipped with excellent connectors. This high-quality powercord is highly suitable for many hifi and video components, and Gigawatt Powerstrips and Powerconditioners also perform excellently with this cable.

Technology: A Powercord consists of a few essential components:

• The Conductor(s)

• The Dielectric, meaning the layer around the conductors

• The Connectors on both ends

Gigawatt uses only pure quality in their products. The difference between all Gigawatt cables lies in the choice of materials, the amount of conductive material, the damping properties, the shielding, and the possible application of Nano filters.

The conductors of the Gigawatt PowerSync Plus consist of 3 x 2.5mm2 OFHC copper conductors. The conductors are multi-strand, consisting of 12 solid core wires with a diameter of 0.514mm. OFHC stands for Oxygen Free High Conductivity 99.997% copper, a very pure material that causes little to no distortion. The Gigawatt PowerSync Plus powercord also features an uninsulated tinned wire for contact with the inner shielding foil layer along the entire length of the cable, which means the entire shielding of the cable is active and no radiation from outside is allowed in. Around the inner aluminum shielding layer there are 2 more shielding layers, namely 1 layer of PVC, and around the PVC layer you will find the outer layer which consists of braided fiberglass & nylon. The very low impedance of the cable makes the Gigawatt PowerSync Plus suitable for better Hifi and High End audio and video installations. The connection plugs are the excellent and solid Gigawatt G-010N and G-030N connectors, made of pure OFC copper and protected with a nickel coating layer.

Listening: The Gigawatt PowerSync Plus is a cable that basically does everything right. A beautiful dynamics coupled with a pure sound image. The bass is tight and well-defined. The Gigawatt PowerSync Plus has thicker conductors than the standard PowerSync (without Plus) and because of this the PowerSync Plus sounds somewhat more powerful, but also more controlled than the standard PowerSync, which is why the PowerSync Plus is more suitable for use with amplifiers, but the difference is also audible on other equipment. The Gigawatt PowerSync Plus is the ideal entry-level cable in the High End Audio world, and the sound difference compared to standard cables supplied with equipment is significant.
