General : The Ansuz Acoustics Mainz D3 is the latest cable in the D-series of Ansuz Acoustics from Denmark. The Ansuz Mainz D3 replaces the Mainz D2. The new Mainz D3 belongs to the Copper Series of Ansuz Acoustics. The Copper Series of Ansuz is called the Copper Series because the gold-plated connectors are housed in a solid copper enclosure. The predecessor of the Mainz D3, the Mainz D2, had connectors in an aluminum enclosure. And for Ansuz Acoustics that is a problem. Audio Group Denmark (under which Ansuz falls) is constantly investigating different materials. Titanium, Copper, Stainless Steel and even Zirconium are very frequently used. Ansuz is working on eliminating aluminum completely from its new products. Aluminum has a negative effect on the sound, it gives an artificial tone due to its resonance behavior and it causes hysteresis. Instead of solving the problems caused by aluminum later, Audio Group Denmark chose to address the problem at the source and therefore no longer uses aluminum in its products. The conductors are silver-plated and are stripped by a special machine to avoid damaging the conductor surface. The Ansuz Mainz D3 is a very stiff twisted cable which provides less noise in the conductors and improved mechanical stability. With the Ansuz Mainz D3, in addition to the solidcore main conductors, 24 smaller 0.3mm² conductors are used which are wound in a double Helix pattern. These smaller conductors are called the Double Inverted Helix Coils (DIHC). The Ansuz Mainz D3 therefore has more conductors than the X3 and the X-TC3 and the same number of conductors as the Mainz A3 and C3. In addition, the Mainz D3 uses Ansuz Anti Aerial Resonance Coils (AARC). Because the Ansuz Mainz D3 also features the AARC technology, and to a much greater extent compared to the Mainz C3, less noise enters your equipment than with the Ansuz Mainz C3, A3, X-TC3 and X3. The Ansuz Mainz D3 is handmade in the factory of Audio Group Denmark in Aalborg Denmark.

Sound Characteristics : The Ansuz Acoustics Mainz D3 has a natural, powerful and spatial sound. The bass is deep, tight and rhythmic and the dynamics are very good. The Ansuz Mainz D3 is a true reference cable. Compared to the Mainz C3, the Mainz D3 has more engagement, more space and a simply more interesting sound. The sound moves and lives even more and is much more captivating to listen to. More happens in the soundstage and you hear more layers in the recording. The sound is transparent as it should be but it is not unnecessary spectacle, this is reflected in the Ansuz character that actually all Ansuz cables have. Everything you hear is pure music. We could talk about certain details and accents. But with Ansuz Acoustics we don't need to discuss that; instead we talk about the enormous musical qualities that Ansuz Acoustics products bring with them.
