Technical : The Aitos 801 Monoblocks are the first amplifiers built around the OTL (Output Transformer Less) principle. It's in the name - these tube amplifiers have no output transformers in the power stage. Transformers slow down the sound, reduce dynamics and tonal purity. These amplifiers are therefore free from these limitations. Both amplifiers were inspected in October 2017, repaired where necessary (resistors and fuse wire etc., no major interventions needed) and recalibrated. These amplifiers have an extremely long lifespan - according to the report they date from 1980 and still play with the original tubes. These amplifiers are unique of their kind and sound truly fantastic with many types of speakers.
