General : Bricasti from the USA originally manufactures digital high-end products for the professional world. The Bricasti M1 is the first in a series of high-end products from the manufacturer. It is one of the first fully dual mono constructed DA Converters in the world. Furthermore, the Bricasti M1 is one of the few DA Converters suitable for playing native DSD and DXD files.

Technical : The Bricasti M1 is built with CNC-milled aluminum sections and heavy aluminum plates. You will not find sheet metal here, but exclusively resonance-free plates. Even the top and bottom plates are milled. Everything to improve sound quality. All parts are heavily anodized and engraved with text using laser inscription. Built to ultra-high standards and with a very long lifespan. The Bricasti M1 is a fully dual mono constructed DA Converter. That means truly 2 Mono 24 Bit DA Converters in 1 chassis. Each channel uses a Stereo ADI-1955 DA Converter, in a fully balanced Mono configuration. There are 8 different digital filters available, including the latest Apodizing Filters (Minimum Phase) and linear filters. The Bricasti M1 locks to all frequencies from 16bit 44.1KHz to 24bit 384KHz and to DSD and DXD files. Several digital inputs are available. AES/EBU, Toslink, SPDIF, BNC, and USB-2. The analog output stage is a pure Class A discrete output stage built on premium Arlon boards. By default, this is set to 2 Volts, but the jumper can also be moved so that the output voltage of the balanced output is adjustable from 0.5 Volts to 17 Volts. An excellent clock is also used for the conversion. An ultra-low 6 picosecond jitter value is the result.

Sound : The Bricasti M1 is a DA Converter of the highest quality. The sound is completely analog, with no trace of digital harshness. The soundstage is enormous and exciting. A lot happens. Vocal reproduction is also very special. Pure in construction and with very precise positioning. The artists appear live before you. Very special indeed.
