General : Full Range High End fully active speaker system

Technology : Essentially, the Kii Audio BXT system is a Kii Three, expanded with BXT subfrequency extenders and line arrays (Subwoofers are not really what they are) and includes the Kii Control. The Kii Three itself is equipped with different software and different settings, and the Kii Three now performs differently than a full range Kii Three. Once the Kii Three is removed, the Kii Three functions again as a standalone unit. The software is automatically adjusted. The low-frequency section is adapted to work with the BXT woofer tower. In the BXT System, each unit is driven separately with its own 250-watt NCore amplifier. The BXT unit itself has 8 woofers, the Kii Three has 4 woofers, a midrange driver and of course the tweeter, totaling 14 units, each with a 250-watt NCore amplifier. The BXT System thus has no less than 3500 watts of continuous amplifier power on board. Per channel! Furthermore, each unit is driven directly, without the intervention of a crossover filter. Control is thus optimal and distortion and losses are minimal. Whether you turn it up loud or soft now makes almost no difference. The greatest technological feature of this BXT system is that the Kii BXT System radiates the bass in a kidney-shaped pattern, just like the Kii Three. Every other speaker on the market radiates below 250Hz in all directions. The result is that the bass reproduction is very highly dependent on the room and the position in the room. You know that well. In one spot in the room there is a lot of bass, in another spot almost nothing. You keep moving your speakers until there is a place where the bass sounds acceptable at your listening position, but often that is not the ideal place for you. With every speaker in every room it remains very much a compromise. The Kii Audio Three and BXT radiate the bass forward to about 40Hz. The BXT system is even a line source in the bass. The result is that the BXT system brings the bass to your chair, into the room, and not in all directions around the room. The bass energy is bundled and the BXT System radiates strongly forward, and almost not upward or downward. Your neighbors will be happy about it. The quality of the bass is really very high, as are the other qualities of this special system. A second technical feature is that the BXT system is phase-correct. Thanks to DSP, all units are controlled and delayed if necessary, so that all frequencies reach your ears at the same time. This results in a very natural and homogeneous reproduction, not only at your listening position, but throughout the room. In summary, the Kii Audio BXT System is a very complete and unique High End audio system. Add your streamer / CD player and such, and you have a complete and utterly unique system at home, which looks great and sounds utterly unique.

Listening : We know the Kii Three very well. It is a small speaker that sounds much larger than it is, and for its size has an unimaginably deep bass reproduction and also sounds very transparent and dynamic. The Kii Audio BXT system sounds different than the Kii Three. You would expect the sound to be roughly the same, but with the bass reproduction only being deeper or more powerful and perhaps the BXT system can only play much louder. However, things are completely different. The reproduction of the Kii Audio BXT system is of a completely different order. The sound image is larger, more refined and much more self-evident. There is an enormous sense of calm emanating from it. Everything works effortlessly, and that is quite a big difference from the Kii Three without BXT. It makes you calmer too. The distortion in the bass is even a factor of 10 lower than with the Kii Three. From a technical standpoint, everything checks out and as far as listening goes, there really is nothing to be desired. Of course, you should expect that for a system in the 30,000 euro range, but we know plenty of speakers at 2 or 3 times the price that can't deliver this, and then you still need a complete installation on top of that. The Kii Audio BXT system, like the Kii Three, is utterly unique in concept and sound, and both systems are standard for audition at Ohm Audio.
