Technical : ProAc has created, in collaboration with Scan-Speak, one of the best speakers of its time. The appearance is simple, not particularly striking but beautifully finished in genuine cherry wood. With the ProAc Response 2.5, it is more about the sound and the simple but effective techniques incorporated into it. This is the ideal loudspeaker for the serious listener. With its 8 Ohm impedance, the ProAc Response 2.5 is no challenge for the average amplifier, though it should be noted that the efficiency is around 86dB at 1 Watt, so a bit more wattage is desirable for the more demanding listener (with 50 Watts or more you will go a long way). The woofer consists of a 7-inch carbon fiber-impregnated paper cone made by Scan-Speak, light, fast, and durable. The tweeter is also made by Scan-Speak, it is a 19mm soft dome which handles the highs.

Listening : Listening to the ProAc Response 2.5 is very pleasant. Everything comes effortlessly from the ProAc Response 2.5 and is pleasantly delivered into your room. This effortless sound provides relaxation during listening, it is a natural and refined sound. This is certainly a loudspeaker designed for extended listening sessions. But the dynamics and tightness are also excellent. The ProAc Response 2.5 is an outstanding speaker where the sound is well balanced and the soundstage is just right. Otherwise, read the excellent reviews, this loudspeaker is simply extremely good. Despite its age, which fluctuates somewhere between 15 and 20 years, this speaker goes extremely well with its time and easily outperforms newer loudspeakers with the most advanced techniques.
