General : Beautiful and musical monitor speaker from British ProAc.

Technology : The ProAc D2R is a further development of the previously well-known D2. The "R" stands for Ribbon in this case, referring to the ribbon tweeter used. Besides the tweeter, more things have changed on the D2R. Improvements have been made to, among other things, the crossover, the cabinet and its internal damping. What has remained the same is the beautiful design and the attention and care in its finish. Below the new ribbon tweeter is the 6.5" fiberglass woofer which handles the bass and midrange. Below that the 2.5" bass-reflex port which allows the D2R to reproduce frequencies down to 30Hz.

Listening : Listening to the ProAc D2R is a very pleasant experience, wonderfully full and defines bass clearly, even from the small cabinet size. The new ribbon tweeter also provides unprecedented transparency in the high tones. From classical to electronic music, the ProAc D2R finds its way, provided the recording is good because these speakers certainly let you hear that.
