General : The largest subwoofer model from the Italian brand Sonus Faber.

Technical : The Sonus Faber Gravis 6 is a very high-end sealed subwoofer with 2 drivers of 320mm diameter each! To drive these drivers, the Gravis 6 features a very powerful Class A/B amplifier with a peak power of 2400 Watts. The frequency range extends down to a full 18Hz! The Gravis 6 has both high-level and low-level inputs. If wired connection is not practical, there is also the option to use a wireless Gravis Transmitter. Unlike the more affordable Gravis variants, the Gravis 6 has no adjustment knobs on the subwoofer itself. Extensive fine-tuning of the subwoofer can be easily achieved using the Gravis Sub Control app. In this app, it is also possible to calibrate the subwoofer to your room using a built-in measurement function where you use your phone as a microphone.

Listening : Actually, you shouldn't hear a subwoofer. It should do nothing but reproduce the absolute lowest frequencies in the music recording that your main speakers cannot reach. The Sonus Faber Gravis 6 does this superbly. The bass extension is substantial, and your speakers seem to have grown larger. The entire soundstage expands in all dimensions. Most importantly, however, the Sonus Faber Gravis 6 produces no distortion or unwanted noise. With its frequency range down to 18Hz, the Gravis 6 is capable of complementing even large speaker systems.
