Technical : The Ayre MX-R Twenty mono block power amplifiers are very special power amplifiers. They are the latest Monoblocks from Ayre, and they are completely different in design than the old MX-R blocks. They are made from a block of Billet Aluminium in which all recesses for the components are milled out. Extremely expensive and very solid. Heavy too. I know of no power amplifiers with a more solid feel than these Ayre MX-R Twenty. Sonically, they are also very special. The Ayre MX-R Twenty renders music very pure and precise, but also exceptionally warm and analog. The Ayre MX-R Twenty plays without negative feedback (Negative Feedback) and that is only possible if there is a naturally balanced design. Of course, the Ayre MX-R Twenty is fully balanced in construction, from input to output. These compact monoblocks drive any speaker on the market effortlessly. With 300 Watts at 8 Ohm and 600 Watts at 4 Ohm, that is hardly surprising.

Sound : Sonically, the Ayre MX-R Twenty amplifiers are very special. We know, of course, the Ayre MX-R, we have sold them several times before, but the MX-R Twenty is quite different. While retaining the basis of the very good characteristics of the MX-R, the MX-R Twenty clearly performs and sounds better in every respect. The Ayre MX-R Twenty renders music very pure and precise, but also exceptionally warm and analog. The Ayre MX-R Twenty plays without negative feedback (Negative Feedback) and that is only possible if there is a naturally balanced design. This makes the MX-R Twenty also sound very effortless, stress-free. Also special is that these MX-R Twenty monoblocks sound very refined no matter how loud or soft you play. So not only powerful when you play very loud, but also when you play at whisper level. Many of the large power amplifiers often sound somewhat less refined then. This set of Ayre MX-R Twenty is a set of MX-R from 2012, which were updated in 2017 to the MX-R Twenty version. With this extremely expensive upgrade, the entire unit has been renewed almost completely. In fact, they are just like new. The invoice for the upgrade of €10,000.00 is available.
