General : The Pass X-250.8 is the successor to the already excellent Pass X-250.5 series.

Technical : The new X-250.8 is, however, a clear step forward. The Pass Labs X-250.8 has become considerably larger and heavier. The Pass X-250.8 is set higher in Class A and has improved components in many respects. The Power Supply has been enlarged, the voltage regulators have become more precise, and the result is outstanding. The Pass X-250.8 is fully balanced from input to output and has also received new speaker terminals. Up to 16 watts the X-250.8 operates in pure class A and above that the Pass X-250.8 delivers an impressive 2 x 250 watts continuous power at 8 ohm, and 500 watts continuous power at 4 ohm. The Pass X-250.8 weighs 52 kg net, which means it must stand on a very stable piece of furniture.

Sound : Sonically, the new Pass X-250.8 is a clear step forward compared to the older series. Better articulation, more transparent, more analog sounding, with more warmth, and better bass response. When properly driven, the Pass X250.8 is capable of extraordinary things. The naturalness stands out, there is no transistor sound whatsoever.
