Technology : For the S8e Spendor has chosen an acoustically dead cabinet, the cabinet is filled with foam and braces are mounted inside the enclosure to make the housing as rigid as possible. The special feature of these braces is that they are also mounted on the drivers to further dampen resonance. On the back you will find a bass port, however not a traditional, round bass port. But you will find what Spendor calls : 3D Linear Flow Port. This rectangular port provides less turbulent air discharge which allows the Spendor S8e to be placed more easily closer to the rear wall.

Listening : The Spendor S8e sounds powerful for its size. But also very refined, not dry or warm, but a nicely balanced sound that works well all-around for many music genres. The Spendor S8e sounds friendly and pleasant for quiet chamber music, without the smearing and coloration of a fully warm speaker. With more modern, dynamic recordings the Spendor S8e really comes alive, it sounds open and musical without harsh edges. This set of S8e is in excellent condition and is ready for many years of musical enjoyment in your home.
