General : The McIntosh MA252 is a 2 x 100 Watt integrated hybrid amplifier including a phono input for MM cartridges. It also features a high-quality headphone amplifier built-in.

Technology : The McIntosh MA252 is a very stable and solidly built amplifier with distinctive techniques. The McIntosh MA252 offers 2 pairs of analog RCA inputs and 1 pair of analog XLR inputs, and also has a phono input for MM cartridges. There is also a Mono Pre Output on the MA252 for connecting a subwoofer. The menu also includes bass and treble controls, allowing you to adjust the sound to your personal preference. The preamplifier in the McIntosh MA252 consists of two 12AX7a and two 12AT7 tubes. The fact that the McIntosh MA252 remains cool is because McIntosh has developed its own cooling fins on the sides of the amplifier. For protection, the McIntosh MA252 features 'Power Guard' which prevents the amplifier from clipping, ensuring your speakers are safe. In case of overvoltage or short circuit, the McIntosh MA252 has a fuseless protection built-in, called 'Sentry Monitor'. By not using fuses, the current is virtually unrestricted, which benefits the sound quality.

Appearance : You can almost always recognize a McIntosh device from a mile away, and so you can with the McIntosh MA252. The MA252 features the characteristic glass plate on the front where the McIntosh logo glows green with a blue LED display below it, where 2 analog meters with an illuminated blue background are located. Below that you will find an LED display showing the volume and input selection, and you can also open the menu with it. For those who don't like illuminated equipment, the lights behind the analog meters can be switched off and the intensity of the LED screen can be easily dimmed or brightened. In front of the glass, you will find a chrome plate with the 12AX7A tubes; the tubes come with a beautiful individual protective cage with a McIntosh logo. The 12AX7A & 12AT7 tubes have LED lights at the tube bases. These light up orange during warm-up and turn green when the MA252 is ready to use. These LED lights can also be easily switched on or off. And right at the front you will find 2 large shiny knobs for volume control and menu operation and input selection. The dimensions are 30.5cm (W) x 19.4cm (H) x 41.9cm (D), the MA252 weighs 13 kg.

Sound : The McIntosh MA252 has the typical McIntosh character. This means the MA252 sounds beautifully full, detailed and rich.
